Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora leads the day-to-day running of the health system. Functions are delivered at local, district, regional and national levels. These include:
- hospital and specialist services
- the National Public Health Service
- clinical governance
- primary and community care.
We also work to improve services and health outcomes. We do this in partnership with Te Aka Whai Ora - Maori Health Authority.
We have united the former 20 District Health Boards, shared services agencies and Te Hiringa Hauora (Health Promotion Agency).
